Platter Privacy Policy

Effective: 2026-10-13

Platter does not collect, store or share any personal data.

  • Platter reads the currently playing track (title, artist, album, play state, artwork and favorite status) from the Music app, and from Spotify if installed, only to draw it on your desktop. This never leaves your Mac. It changes playback, or marks a song as a favorite, only when you press its own controls.
  • To find album artwork, Platter sends the artist and album name, with no identifiers, to Apple's public iTunes Search API and to Deezer's public API. Those services' own policies apply to those requests. The same lookup provides the Apple Music link used by the share button.
  • Platter has no account, no analytics, no advertising and no crash reporting beyond what Apple provides through the App Store with your consent.
  • Your settings (room, time of day, backdrop, size, position) are stored only on your Mac.
